Project Goal
Our client wanted to transform the area around her swimming pool into a beautiful and functional outdoor space. The goal was to create a versatile L-shaped leisure area. This plan involved building a new concrete deck on one side of the pool and installing artificial turf on the other.

Project Challenges
We overcame three key challenges:
- Ground Preparation: Excavating and levelling the ground to create a stable foundation for both surfaces.
- Soil Replacement: Removing 20 tonnes of clay and replacing it with compacted metal for long-term stability.
- Drainage Control: Installing an effective drainage system along the pool house to manage water runoff correctly.
Our Solution & Process
Our solution involved careful site preparation and a step-by-step process. We began by excavating the area and installing a channel grate for proper drainage. Next, we built the framework for the concrete, creating a slight slope to direct water away from the house. After laying a compacted metal base, we installed steel reinforcement for strength, adding extra steel where the pool fence would be. The concrete was coloured with a black oxide and given a fine broom finish for a non-slip texture. We then cut a decorative tile pattern into the surface. Finally, the team from Prestige Turf professionally installed the new artificial lawn.
Points of Interest
A unique feature of this project was the addition of a personal mini-golf course. At the client’s request, we worked with the turf installers to integrate three mini-golf holes directly into the new lawn. This creative touch transformed the poolside into a multi-purpose entertainment area. It now provides a fun activity for family and guests, making the space both beautiful and interactive.
